Komatsu D61EX-23 Engine belt burst and cut a few wires now it refuse to start.

This machine was working fine until the belt burst and cut a few wires. The wires were repaired but it refuses to start. Would these codes prevent it from starting CA352, CA222, CA1844? Are there any other possibilities that would keep the engine from start after the belt burst and wires were cut?

Maybe a speed sensor or other sensor is the problem. Post your serial number. Someone out there must have info on it. Simon C

Changed the cam sensor and the crank sensor for it and it still refuse to start. The serial number is 31757

Are you sure the wiring was connected in the right places? Also, a broken belt can act like a whip.........look outside the immediate area for other wire damage.

Yes just four wires were cut and they are in the right place. Checked everywhere in front of the engine and no other wire damage. Just tried to crank it after replacing the Ambient sensor and how having error codes for injector #4 #5 #6

Sounds like there's more wire damage than you think.

There aren't much wires at the front of it and the ones that got cut from the belt is for the adblue system. Currently only have error codes for the crankcase pressure sensor and those injector codes.

Brian, What codes specifically are currently active?

    Fuses good?

That belt hit something that caused wires to possibly short and blow a fuse, a fusible link, a relay, or who knows what else got spiked with the belt acting like a whip like Vetech63 said. There is some hidden damage to suddenly be 3 cylinders out of commision. Could be the result of a short to ground that affected something way far away from contact area. Hard to tell without a schematic. Simon C

    CA352, CA332, CA325, CA323, CA3254 and CA1844. These are the active codes

Yes, all fuses are good. Took out the ECM to have it tested and everything is ok with it.

Yeah we probably are missing something. Checked all fuses and wires around the area and everything looks ok. Lol one belt just caused a whole lot of issues.

Would it be possible for you to monitor the following from the service side of the monitor? - 01002 Engine Speed - 03204 Battery Power Supply - 36400 Rail Pressure - 36200 Rail Pressure Command - 48000 IMV Current - 48001 IMV Current Command Please check and record first with key on engine off, then record while cranking engine.

Should be able to do that tomorrow and let you know

Brian, First image - key on engine off - should not be registering common rail pressure any where near 741 Kg (10500 psi) when the injection pump is not turning. Second image - engine cranking - odd that in both images actual rail pressure and commanded are exactly the same, usually there is some variance in the numbers - even if only by a few kg's. Fuel display in bottom right corner of images shows no fuel and background of diesel fuel symbol is red (indicating very low or no fuel). Is the fuel gauge working correctly? Attached image shows how the wiring harness fits on the engine. items #3, #11, and #15 are the injector electrical connectors at the head. Since you have multiple codes I would start by troubleshooting for CA352 (attached doc). Perhaps the main engine harness between the engine ECM and engine sensors, injectors, actuators was damaged by belt failure.

What should the registered common rail pressure when the engine is not running? The sensor for the fuel is not good and we need to replace it but the tank is full. Thank you. I will run through these and check and give you an update.

Common rail pressure without engine running should be near zero. Have seen -100 to +100 simply because the transducer is rated for over 30,000 psi. If transducer error range is 1% that is around 300 psi.

Could the new sensor that we installed cause that?
