I have a komatsu d-65e-6 when you try to back up a steep grade it stalls. The engine is still going strong and not straining. I am wondering if their is a filter or screen i can change or clean. Any help would be appreciated

Pull the floor board and watch driveline when it stops moving. If drive line stops the convertor is slipping. If driveline keeps spinning the transmission or the steering clutches are slipping. To check this pull the round cover off back of main case (unless there is a winch) and get the machine in this stall and see if bevel gear is spinning. If it is spinning the clutches are slipping. If it is not spinning the transmissionn is slipping. Any of the 3 that could be causing your problem is a major repair. Not a weekend mechanical job. The steer clutches are spring loaded to drive. Unless they are partially released by pressure they are slipping. If it pulls good in forward up the incline it is the Reverse pack in transmission. While the pressures could be low and cleaning strainers, changing filters or adjusting pumps might help the machine....it will most likely not fix it.
