I have a D3C111 dozer. Oil been leaking from the Bevel Gear drive shaft yoke. Can I replace that seal underneath the dozer by taking off the drive shaft or do have to tear into by taking stuff off? Dozer been setting for a year and the oil was leaking setting there.
Post a machine Serial Number and we can take a look what’s involved in replacing the yoke seal.

From the attached parts drawing it appears that the Seal #15 is installed from the back side of the Bearing Cage #14. That would imply having to remove the entire Cage from the transfer Gear Case in order to get at the seal. Do that and who knows what pieces of the gear train could potentially fall out.? Maybe someone else who has done this job can comment.
