Hi i am working on a 1980s Massey Ferguson MF80 Backhoe and the Backhoe will not lift up and pushes hydraulic fluid out of the top seal (Images attached). I also can not find parts or any manuals on this Backhoe any help would be greatly appreciated. Was also told it could be o'rings needing replaced. Thank you for your time.
Yes, if the valve spool is leaking, then you can pull the spool out of the valve body and replace the o rings. Actually might get the o ring out without removing the spool, can't remember, but it's easy to pull the spool out. Start with the cap on the bottom, then remove the springs, then the spool should pull out the top, then it should be obvious what to replace. Take the spool and old o rings to a hydraulic shop, or order them online. Hercules.
I pulled all spools out i believe ill attach photos of what i got out. Im still trying to figure it out there's no manual on it haha and parts are hard to find.
What do you need to figure out? If the o ring isn't on the spool, then it's in a groove in the valve body. might be a different style of seal too. Don't pull them all out at once, or don't get them in the wrong hole, they're not interchangable.
Agco has the manuals for very reasonable prices. Just scroll down and it has the parts, service and operator manuals for the 70/80 backhoes. Minnpar may have some parts. Good strong machines in their day. http://www.agcopubs.com/default.aspx?model=80&brand=44096&keywords=backhoe&searchForm=0
