I have an old 175a series 2 that the reverse clutches galded together. What kind of ordeal is it to remove the discs from the drum?
Just assuming the transmission didn't change from the first series machine, my last experience with a stuck clutch was caused by sheared teeth from the plates and other debris getting jammed between plates, not galling. Not hard to fix on the machine. I always thought that was one of the great things on that transmission, the clutches could be changed without pulling the trans.
going again I got the clutches out most of the teeth were gone. Once I got in farther in one of the discs had broke in two wedging the clutches. New clutches are in and it works fine. Thanks
