first time poster. i bought a cat 246 today without an engine. i have a few questions 1. where do i find the year and serial number 2. i have to move it from its location which is about 200 yards from my house. i am assuming there is a way to take the pressure off the wheels (like nutral) there is no motor so i cant run the pump. any ideas i am figuring that it is simple im just not seeing it. i plan on pulling it with my truck very slow. thanks
no answers...hmmmm i am amazed at how little info there is on cat equiptment. i have been searching all night. I have to have it moved today any ideas would be greatly appreciated
The SN should be on a plate on the inside of the loader tower just above the radiator. You will not be able to release the brakes as they are spring applied and hydraulically released. Without a pump working you will not release them.
You pulling it over dirt blacktop or gravel. You could use a trailerand a winch if it has a metal floor just use some transmission fluid to make it slide on and of you will have to winch or chain it off the trailer
