MSP CARRIAGE

REDWOOD LOGGER ยท 2019-03-14 11:24

Does anyone know if mechanical slack pulling carriages can still be bought new and if so who sells them and another question I would have is what would be the value of a rebuilt Berger MSP carriage? How much did they or do they cost new?

Van brothers piece on the carriages http://www.vannattabros.com/iron26.html Christy Carriages/ Idaho still have a fb listing https://www.mapquest.com/us/idaho/christy-log-carriages-llc-370033575 http://www.oregoncaliforniasupply.com/Logging--Construction-Supplies.html Koller hauler with Christy Carriage - trip clamped on skyline Wyssen appear to have a reasonable sized msp carriage. Probably used for lifting construction equipment into mountains that too heavy or too close to a mountain for a safe helicopter lift. https://www.wyssenseilbahnen.com/en/carriage/carriage-hy-4-hy-7/ Wyssen HY -7 (capacity 7 metric tonnes - 15400lbs, 48mm skyline) https://www.wyssenseilbahnen.com/en/carriage/carriage-universal/ ( capacity- 3000kg model up to 36mm skyline) etc Koller have a number of uphill and uphill/ downhill carriages https://www.kollergmbh.com/en/carriage-range/hsk-4002 (8800lb capacity?) Lesser capacity https://www.kollergmbh.com/en/carriage-range/esk-2-0 TST Forestry - carro carriage http://tst-forestry.com/laufwagenindex#laufwagen (5000? model - max 24mm skyline , 10000lbs - needs bigger sheaves) I think there is a company in Norway that makes a good msp carriage for smaller timber in very steep terrain.

Konrad Foresttechnic or something like that springs to mind. They have some innovative designs on carriages, the Woody harvester heads, and the "Highlander" harvester which is a funky looking beast. From somewhere Scandinavia way.

I think the Konrads are Austrian and might have engines in them. Owrens are one of the Norwegian haulers. Owren 350 and 400 (3 section carriage) 100 feet of 1/2 inch skidding line, no motor msp carriage? (BC and Europe etc) https://owren.no/index.php/no/egen-produksjon/owren-400.html#!P1010016 Be interesting to see who holds some of the patents/ designs of the old msp carriages. Wonder if T-Mar (or Nicholson- dust off the plans if they exist) would do anything with a msp (non-motor)carriage? http://www.vannattabros.com/11-4/carriages1.pdf (Madill 052 carriage)
