My serial number 25X02672

I have a D5B dozer and can't seem to find a dealer that recognizes my serial number. Cat dot com recognizes the number but has no parts. I just need a thermostat. Also can someone decode my serial number? Especially year. Thanks.

    Looks like a good number to me? 1984 D5B Regulator (as Cat calls it) is 7N-0208 Gasket for regulator is 7N-0944

    Yours is one of many models from that era where the online system contains no information. Your best bet is to get hold of a Parts Manual that will enable you to buy both genuine or aftermarket parts by Part Number. The appropriate manual for 25X machines from S/N 1815-Up is SEBP1279. You can download a pdf copy from HERE simply by entering SEBP1279 into the box and click Search. Alternatively you might find a used copy like this one on eBay .
