ok so i bought a used JLG G9-43A telehandler at auction and it wont drive in 3rd or 4th gear. you can shift into it just fine but it wont move in either direction in 3rd or 4th. is this a problem or is this normal? i as wondering cause i have 2 Lulls, an 844C-42 and a 1044C-42 and they ride just fine in 3rd and 4th. please help if you can. thanks take care all
No, i would say that is not normal. It should definitely shift into 3rd and 4th gears unless there is a limit switch that would prevent high drive speed unless, say the boom had to be above or below a certain angle or the booms had to be fully retracted. Dont know much about the JLG model telehandlers in general. I am guessing there are shift solenoids that are bolted into the side of the transmission. I would start there by testing those to see if you are getting anything. My knowledge is not much in these matters so thats about the best ive got for you.....
