New Holland Quick Connects Stuck

biggixxerjim ยท 2010-05-25 21:30

The machine in question is a L170. Im having a hard time getting the bucket to release, I dont know if this has ever been done before and the machine has 470hrs on it. The levers on the connect do pull up, but the pins the actually holds the bucket on are stuck "out". What now?

Brass hammer to get them to move. They get jammed and rusted in place over time. Sometimes standing the bucket on edge(dump position) gives you better access to the pins.

spray some penatrating oil around the ends then as bill on the hill said hit the ends with a hammer. sometimes if you are gentle you can put a long piece of pipe on them and see if they will move. i have had sucess with both ways. good luck Ryan

Whack it with a hammer, grease the hell outta it (should be a grease zerk) and penetrating oil, and prybar and a piece of pipe over the handle and pull like hell on it....I have done it all! lol We have hydraulic Q/A plates on the new machines and when they get siezed up there is no real good way to free them up so u really have to work your ass off then. even our brand new bobcat m630 does not have grease zerks on the bobtach but will be drilling and taping some in. our s185 same thing jamed up with the power bobtach alot of dirt and rust gets in there wd40 is your best friend there

on bobcats they are on the side of the pins usually packed with dirt where you cant see them. do one pin at a time so you dont drop the bucket on your self by releaseing both.

new one does yes you are right pj. The 185 does not asked the bobcat rep about the s185 he told use no unless he dont know what he is talking about and we looked all over the Q/A nothing for the power bobtach

put the bucket in the dump position and bash on the pins with a 4 lb hammer
