hi, i got a oldish js 130, i need to know which spool is what before i take the caps off, when i slew left and right the boom also rises which tells me a spool is sticking in, but not certain, also the hydrolics dont seem right when i track, the left track is very alive while the right one comes in nice and smooth, someone has been in the pipe work before to change a few pipes but i think thay put them back on wrong!, any help would be great, many thanks, jamie.

Hi Jamie, Those early JS130 had problems with valve blocks cracking on occasion i think! If you send me an email address il send you a workshop manual! What part of South Wales you in? Aiden

why not replace all your spool rings? Any old machine needs new bits and replacing the rings is an easy task

This sounds like a good explanation. To confirm. Cap the pilot lines off that control the spool on the boom. If it still does it the valve body has internal leakage.

update: i took the pipes off the boom spool and slewing was fine, (not lifting) so i know it wasnt internal damage, the manual was great thanks, not to much on what i needed tho , same manuals tend to concentrate on the wrong things ay, very helpful with the other problems tho, thank you, the slewing seems to be banging in now instead of the tracking banging in, i think the cushing valves are piped up right and are all fine, the only one i am stuck on is the slew delay pipe and where it goes, anyone with a 1994 JS130? if yes a photo of your valve block would be great, many thanks, jamie.
