i just purchased an old mec scissor lift. its been repainted and all the decals have been removed and of course not replaced. its an old heff-t-herman. not exactly sure on which model as of yet. i called their service dept. to try and help me identify it. not much help. anyway it looks like a pretty simple machine. it doesnt work. it i can hear things click and make noise when the switches are activated but the pump motor does not engage. i really think its probably just bad batteries my pickle is it appears to me the scissor portion of the lift has to be raised in order to get to the battery and it doesnt function so how can i get the platform up high enough to get the safety lockout bar installed with it not working? it would be nice if it was a newer one where the battery is in a tray on the side of the unit. before i start trying to trouble shoot this i would like to make sure im starting with a good power source. thanks for any info.
