I have this ecm that powered a Perkins 1106D 6 cylinder but want to use the ecm in a 430e backhoe. How can I reprogram it.

    Simple answer. You can’t.

Although Perkins Engines is a subsidiary of Caterpillar, many Perkins engines are equivalent to Caterpillar engines. However, the Caterpillar 430E backhoe loader is equipped with a Cat 3054C DIT engine producing 101 horsepower. Meanwhile, the Perkins 1106D engine is a 7.1-litre (or 6.6-litre in some versions) six-cylinder diesel engine, available in turbocharged or aftercooled versions, delivering power from 112–205 kW (150–275 hp). The difference is too great, too obvious! Therefore, they can not be interchangeable. The Caterpillar 3054C DIT engine is essentially equivalent to the Perkins 1104C-44T (4.4-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged) engine. These engines were developed during a joint partnership between the two companies, making them functional equivalents for many industrial and construction applications
