HI,i am new to forum. i have a moderate amount of experience with running many types of heavy equipment. i own a 1970 ? 3400A series international backhoe and i have recently acquired an ASV 2810. the ASV will start but has been sitting for years. it will start but not continue to run long enough to move under its own power. it is 3 hrs away from my home and i need to retrieve it but do not have the time or ability to troubleshoot the running problem until i get it home. my question is can i winch it on my trailer or do i need to make the tracks freewheel? if i do need it to freewheel how do i do that? thanks in advance for any input
Based on my understanding of Hydrostatics, you need to make the tracks free wheel. On my Toyota, there are two bleed screws on the hydrostatic pump identified in the manual for this purpose. What exactly is wrong with the engine? It may be simpler and safer to rectify that and just drive it on.
having the tracks freewheel will be easier or you can use brute force but that's not often a good idea. Running would be better, perhaps it needs a new fuel filter, clogged from age/sitting.
