Hi I would like to have information on double acting circuit with relief valve. I would like to reduce pressure on a circuit to protect a small double acting cylinder. Is it necessary to put relief valve on both ways of the cylinder? Is it possible to put only one valve? Thank you
What application is the cylinder being used for?
Also, will you be using a separate control valve for this cylinder or connecting it to a section in an existing valve and is your system open or closed center, at what operating pressure? Lots of variables. Do NOT use a crossover relief valve!
It is for really small cylinder to operate a quick coupler. The cylinder max pressure is 7Mpa
Is it plumbed to an existing section of the machine's valve stack, or does it have a separately plumbed valve? If it's a closed center system with a separate valve for the coupler, you can plumb in a reducing/relieving block in the pressure line. Otherwise you'll need two relief valves, one in each line going back to tank. Or a manifold block with two relief valves and a tank port. I would probably use reducing/relieving valves here also, but that's just me. :my2c
