Those look like quick couplers for the AUX to run an auger or hammer. You may have a dial on the rear of the machine to adjust flow. In the cab you should have a foot peddle or button to activate it, if you hit it the motor should bog down and the hoses should tense. Ps. It might be worth relocating them because it looks like if you swing all the way to the side you will run the risk of crushing them against the machine.

Deere is right in the appearance of a aux system outlet, I looked at the control tower and seen no means to actuate it but there may be some type of electrical system to do that. Those hoses terminate at a valve somewhere and I would suggest looking for wire or linkage to see what actuates it.

an brake lever n gear shifter,n shifter w/ button lines ,just spent the most part of this day with that machine,,the cab is very basic, only the controls in pictures,,. i even played in the dirt with it, i crawed under ,poked it from the rear with a stick n flashlight,i crawed under n followed the lines ,i lost them (2 lines )a top the rear axel ,,either it so common i m missing it or it just vanished leaving no bolt holes drilled,,,,wires hanging, no handles floping, i been a mechanic for 30+years, an i'm havin the worst blonde moment of my life,,,

This lever looks suspicious, what happens when you move it? Load the engine any??

it is the boom pin release a rod going thru the cab lower side wall releasing a pin ,no hidden electric switches to it ,, the pedals, an far as i cold tell the handlevers

Just FYI, they stopped building D's in '82. I'm no help on the extra lines as mine doesn't have any like the ones pictured.

No info from the previous owner as far as what he used it for? It might not be able to run a hammer, it sounds like its just tapped in underneath to support a stationary item like a log splitter. One at a time take the quick couplers off attach a gauge and see if there is pressure when you start it, with no switch in the cab it doesn't sound like its set up to run an auger just a hydraulic outlet. Good Luck

i did crawl under backhoe i tried to follow the 2 lines from the back ,, followed them to above rear axel where they ran above ,when i lost sight ,,ithink they go to the frame rail where there are attached to t's ,,hard line from there,, nothing looked like it was added ,i did notice a single wire hanging loose an a wire split with 2 connectors with 2 wires going to each the only thing closs enough to attach to loked like a selinod atop a tanki looked at the manual too now i'm really lost heheigot a round knob on the dash with a lever commin out side has a detent stop 1/4 thru turn n one at 1/2 way turn,, u can makle out in picture of dash ,,it didnt seem to operate anything, any ideas ?

If you are referring to the switch on the right hand side of the front dash above the key switch, that is the turn signal switch. If the quick disconnect plumbing does not go to a valve section, then there would not be any wiring associated as there would not be any valve to switch on/off. I agree with Deere500a. Connect a gauge to each hydraulic line and see what pressure is on each.

,,do i need to get a specific rated gage to check,as i dont have one,,,,,,,,,,yet, gonna try to go up today n play with every switch , see if i get movement in the lines ,gonna crawl back under n take pictures of all the lines cuz i'm half dummy at present ,,never worked on backhoe b4 closest was bobcat steering , it was easy to fix n set up ,,but this is hard to find info on,, they must be proud of thier equiptment case...the service manual was outta my price range, the person i got it rom was clueless too,

Gauge should be around 2500/3000 psi range. Take the cover off the hoe controls too see if the wires are there & see if there is a fuse in the fuse panel. Said above my have been Just T'ed in.
