JD 1910E at delivery in Kongsvinger These machines are as I understand not built in Sweden but in Finland. For comparision I include a picture of the Lokomo 933 and the ÖSA 280 which is two of the predecessors to the 1910E The history of the originating swedish and finnish companies though is very interesting (borrowed this from John Deere): 1918 The blacksmith Jonas Östberg set up a shop in Alfta, Sweden, and it later grew into Ösa, i.e. Östbergs Smidesfabrik Alfta, M&G Östberg. 1968 Kockums Industri was founded in Sweden. 1969 Bruun System AB was founded in Sweden. 1974 Lokomo in Finland and Ösa in Sweden started cooperation. 1974 Makeri was founded in Finland. 1983 Rauma-Repola Forest Machine Group was established in Finland under Rauma-Repola Oy Lokomo-industries. The Forest Machine Group was negotiating the purchase of Timberjack, Valmet and Kockums forest machine operations. Lokomo Forest was founded in Finland. 1983 Rauma-Repola Forest Machine Group acquired Kockums forest machine operations in Sweden. 1986 Rauma-Repola Forest Machine Group was negotiating with Caterpillar about cooperation and acquired 60 % of the French Cemet-Agrip and entered into a cooperation with Timberjack. 1988 Rauma-Repola forest machine operations were gathered under the name FMG. The Group acquired 100 % of Cemet-Agrip and signed a cooperation agreement with the Japanese Komatsu. 1989 Rauma-Repola purchased 100 % of Timberjack. 1990 The group was renamed FMG Timberjack. 1991 Rauma-Repola merged with a Finnish company United Paper Mills and FMG Timberjack was attached to Rauma-group. 1994 FMG Timberjack was renamed Timberjack-group. 1997 Timberjack had 50th anniversary. 1999 Rauma-group and a Finnish company Valmet were merged. They were named Metso-group. 2000 Deere & Company acquired Timberjack-group from Metso. 2005 Timberjack Oy was renamed John Deere Forestry Oy and the new machinery was trademarked John Deere.
