Can you guys tell me what a 24 volt system should charge at? I have a terex loader with a detroit and a 24 volt system, at idle its only 25.15 volts...is it supposed to charge around 28??
It should be 27-28 volts, at around 1500rpm. On idle it could drop to 25-26 volts, depending on if you have many lights on and the condition of your batteries etc.
How old is this monster? Is it an original greeny. They did not always charge the same way new systems do now. Who made the alternator? Delco, Leece Neville, Motorola etc. It probably makes a difference.
