ZF tranny. It shifts through reverse gears fine, and goes to neutral. Seems bound up, or stuck in high gear in forward. No metal chinks in big screen, some brass seen in spin on filters. Any thoughts?
No experience with ZF's but sounds to me like possibly a failed clutch. I guess if you have a manual for this TA30 you could do some pressure tests to confirm the clutches are getting pressure. But if it's any thing like the old Allisons you might see good pressures but still have a failed clutch. Don't you gotta have an external box hooked up to recalibrate the clutches every so often?
There is no code on the Zf screen? I want to understand more about the problem, do you mean when you put shift selector on forward should be on zf display 2F but in your case showin 6F
