Trying to solve two problems. 1. Getting rid of asphalt demo. 2. Finding good base rock close to the project. Is crushing or grinding asphalt and using it under new concrete paving a viable option? Has anyone done this? We typically need to place 6"-24" of LVC material under our concrete building slabs and paving depending on the site conditions.
I've not seen it done under building slabs, but lots of parking lots and road preps.
Millings on their own are not suitable as base. Blending 50% class 5 works ok. Your best bet is to sell the millings and buy aggregate, millings are worth considerably more, there is usually good demand when people find out millings are available.
