Looking to get a cat 317 or Volvo 160 for residential foundations. I know both are very comparable machines I just want to know other peoples opinions on both machines.

So, as much as I push Volvo, the sad truth is you'll be able to get Cat parts long after Volvo. Volvo makes a very smooth, very durable machine. That said, things wear out or fail over time. Cat will still support the product that bears their name. I can't say that for Volvo .
