Our Volvo Ec290BLR is not getting enough diesel, it has very little power. Anybody know what the problem is.....?
Could be dirt in the tank, remove fuel line from tank is fuel flowing freely? next go to inlet of filters and especially transfer pump pull the banjo bolt that attaches the line, is fuel flowing good out of the line if it is look in the banjo bolt alot of them have a screen. if all that is o k then you have to put a pressure guage at the secondary filter ( after the transfer pump ) and do a fuel pressure check
Mechanic is saying that it is an eletric issue. There are some error messages on the dashboard, I'll find out what they are.
Yes if you have trouble codes then pull them, it will also have a fuel pressure sensor then and it could be one of your codes, you said it was starving for fuel but are you sure it is just not missing or not reving up. If it is a b model then open the little cover at the rear of the left hand armrest and you will see toggle switches. for Pump control, engine shutdown and idle or full fuel ( this is how you get a machine out of the field if it has an electrical malfunction ) if it revs fine when you throw the switch then it is electrical. It is a little plastic plate that you can pop out at the very back of the left armrest but it is still on top of the armrest
Thanks for the help. Do you know what kind of diagnostic adapter I need for a Valvo machinery?
You need VCADS which only the dealer has access to....
No there is also a hand held unit you can purchase I have one it cost me $1100 dollars here in Canada but it is limited and cannot change parameters like the VCADS can. It plugs right into the loaders but you need and adapter cable for it to plug into an excavator. Did You pull any codes? you can get codes without plugging anything in.
Whats the fault code? I'll check it up for you.
Is it running rough at hi idle, if so it could be the engine speed sensors! I have seen them get water in the plugs and do weird things!
