Recently when moving our L70D back from its winter location, an error message popped up saying " Brake Charing Failure". At first i figured it meant Charging failure, so i scrolled through the screen to find the brake and axle pressures normal. Has anyone seen this error before, and is it a spelling error in the volvo ecu, or does it mean something else? Thanks as always!
I’ve seen that message before. “Brake Charing Failure” is actually Volvo’s wording for a brake charging issue, not a typo for battery charging. It usually relates to the brake accumulator/system not building or maintaining the required pressure quickly enough. If your brake and axle pressures are reading normal now, it may have been a temporary low-pressure condition after sitting all winter. I'd keep an eye on it and check the brake accumulator, pressure sensors, and related hydraulics if it comes back.
If your pressure is normal but the warning remains, the sensor is probably stuck. SE502 should be the pressure switch that turns the light off. What was your pressure? Above 2k or less?
Ill have to look for that sensor. The machines screen only shows, normal or low, it doesnt give an actual pressure reading. Ill have to get someone with a set of gauges to tap into it and take an actual reading.
This is what your error code means

Overall general schematic of your machine. No options, no extras. A lot of the illustrations are cut in the description attachment, I've attached the images separately so you get the whole enchilada. BTW focus on fu30. Without it, nothing takes place. It is possible to charge brakes without the sensor. Simply hold your bucket circuit curled over relief for 5 seconds. That should full charge the accumulator block.
thank you!!
