In 06 that is right around the neighborhood that we got ours for. I can ask the old man exactly what we paid for ours. Worth every penny.

Yeah it seems so. I guess I'm on the other side of the coin - just can't understand how a $150K+ new dump truck will ever pencil out financially.:beatsme

Yeah I feel you there cm, for the purchase cost we should be getting 100 per hr easy, instead of the 75 thats common around here for a triaxle. Whats the old rule of thumb, $1.00 per 1,000 per hr. of initial purchase price?

Friends of ours who has a site contracting biz priced a new Mack Granite back in the fall and it was $160,000.

Its in that general area. There is an old saying, "Gotta keep those dumps trucks humpin" Some companies run double shifts for one truck. Guy runs it during the day. Then new guy runs it at night. Cinci, dayton, area, they night haul. Sand, aggregate, etc. I'm pretty sure this is why the old trucks are gaining in value again. because 20k can buy you some real junk hahaha

Over $250,000.00 for a dump truck ! What do you get per hour for rental? In USA dollars.

Probably not much, i dont run them. A few years ago I sold a freightliner tipper for $60,000 and was 10 or so years old, they guy that brought it was happy to get $55 per load(which could take 20min or could take two hours so say on average an hour) and a extra $25 if he brought a dog trailer. Cant beleive how gullable some people are, he was thinking he was going to make lots of money, he was already talking about buying a second one and employing someone to do it. Nick

If you are looking to buy a truck, then why to go for a used one. I know that buying a brand new truck or car is not that easy thing, but it has become much easier now. There are lot of finance companies out there, which are there to help us to buy new cars and trucks.

In the countries involved in the crisis, for example my country, the security people of banks don´t allow you into the bank if you don´t take a bag full of money hehehehe

Hey MattR, How much would you want to sell this truck you are talking about, considering the fact that it is now some 9 years old?. Secondly, how big is the truck?, is it a ten tyre truck?.....

I'm in Ontario Canada. My 2013 Western Star tri-axle (what we call them here....steer, steering lift axle, tandem drive) was $186,000. It's loaded with options. Just priced a new one with the exchange rate bad again, was over $213,000. Dealer has a plain-Jane tandem and they want $167!!! Truck prices have far exceeded the rates dummies keep working for.
