The second telephone pole is crooked..... What is that in the hole?

  2. #2cummins052009-09-13 00:52

i see what looks to be a cat in a hole and what looks to be a cable on the ground behind your truck

  3. #3Per Eriksson2009-09-13 03:11

This looks to be the start of a resque mission, but I really don't think that pickup will be able to drag it up from the hole..........

  11. #11bigblueox2009-09-13 14:28

next sequel for snakes on a plane.... snakes in a dodge?

  12. #12Vantage_TeS2009-09-13 14:44

I'm not sure WHY my guy on the 6H thought it would be a good idea to drive off the edge and then turn sideways, but he sure did it anyways. That right track is buried up past the final. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2600/3914637516_b5b9cdfbf4_b.jpg

  13. #13JimBruce422009-09-13 14:53

so... you guys are digging a swale? Is it really that soft there that the dozer sank?

  14. #14stock2009-09-16 02:03

The traffic is driving on the wrong side of the road an' da dozer was goin out ta' stop'em,changed his mind ,turned an' fell in da 'ole.

  15. #15Vantage_TeS2009-09-17 00:03

No there was a little bit of "organic" material which runs UNDER the road, however our soil expert informed us that we have to remove it. So since we can't very well dig up the road we just cut it straight up and down from the pavement and the D6H was attempting to backfill. There was a near vertical edge on the fill side as well so when he tried to doze in sideways and fell off he couldn't get back up.

So in other words you where, recovering a 20 ton plus dozer with a 3 ton pick up with out a winch and found out it was never going to work

  17. #17Hendrik2009-09-17 05:23

So the dozer driver dozed off? Not good enough

  18. #18Vantage_TeS2009-09-17 23:12

No silly pick up trucks travel much faster then packers do when the cable is across site. I hooked the 816B up and it yanked it up without much trouble. Here is our friend again. This time we needed something a little bigger than an 816 to pull him out... http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2604/3930715296_dea7ea029e_b.jpg So tell me. If our fill area runs from the dry area on the right to the mud hole on the left, why is he facing that way??? :beatsme :Banghead

  19. #19ravenseye2009-09-19 06:52

There are two different views of the dig?fill area in the truck mirror strange

  20. #20Vantage_TeS2009-09-20 18:33

You're probably looking at the roadway there. The higher area is the island dividing the lane and the lower area is the road core (gets filled back in with gravel base then paved).

No.. that is whats right in the in the picture... not a powerjoke in sight

  23. #23[-Agent-]2009-09-29 21:35

His dodge is a hemi, so diesel jokes don't work here.

  24. #24BCB2009-09-30 21:18

yeah... noticed that after i posted... was hoping nobody else did
