I asked this on Trucks but no responses. "2002 T-800 KW wiper delay brings the blades strait up and then it stays there. Works fine on Hi and Low. Couldn't fined a relay, just a breaker marked wipers in the panel. New switch didn't help. Any ideas? "
I can't say specifically for your truck but most wiper motors I've ever had dealings with have brushes and a slip-ring on the output gear which handle the parking position. Try popping the cover off and looking for broken brushes or pieces of the track worn away.
Not exactly related but GM 88-98 pickups have a wiper module that poops the bed on a pretty regular basis. Similar problems although they just stop working on anything sometimes. So if nothing mechanical jumps out start looking for electrical.
it sounds like its the motor, Im not positive on your truck but mine the delay is built into the motor not a separate relay...actually a circuit board on the motor but you have to buy the WHOLE assembly!!!
Same thing as GM, circuit board attaches to the motor although you can buy either separately.
Okay, memory cells finally came to work... as Cmark suggests look at the park circuit, I had forgotten how the delay setups work... they just pulse the motor for a couple seconds and then drop out, letting the park circtuit take over and return the wiper to it's park position. Obviously in either continous run mode the circuit is hot at all times so the motor works correctly. Is it parking correctly when you shut it off from hi or low speed? Broken wire in the circuits maybe?
Yes, it parks on hi and low. Talked to the parts guy at KW and he says this older truck does not have a module- he thinks. Just goes up and sticks straight up and stops on intermittent.
