Yanmar hitch removal.

Shriff · 2020-08-13 04:55

Hi, we are trying to remove the hitch from the excavator. Pin was easy to remove but the hitch is still held to the stick with what appears to be a system to stop side clearance. For the life of us we we cannot work out how to remove it. Any help that can be offered will be appreciated.

I’ve seen the stick bushings start to walk out into the housing. Check into the pin hole with a good light and ensure that the bushing has not slid out into the side of the coupler wearing a boss.

Good day Not sure which model you have but the 75 appears to have a straight pin, is it possible that a step has worn in the pin and preventing removal. Try unloading and loading as you try removal. Kind regards Uffex

Hi Mike, thanks for your response, it was appreciated. This morning we had a mechanic check our problem and for awhile he was also stumped. However, after awhile he decided to hit the side of the hitch with a sledge hammer. Blow me down the hitch dropped off onto the ground. The side hardened surfaces on each side of the stick had worn and recessed into the hitch. The hitch was sitting in the recessed area thus not being able to separate from the stick. Again thanks and stay safe. Cheers Gary Lake Wānaka New Zealand
