Was at the Con Expo show in Hartford last week.Went over to the ZF booth--the company that makes axles and transaxles, trannys for Deere.Interesting that they told me they recommend engine oil instead of hyd. oil in 310-410 Deere hoes in the transaxle.Anybody else hear or actually try this?
yeah we run engine oil in the ZF boxs in the machines at work
Thats interesting as Case uses the ZF unit in all their L&M hoes and loaders and they recomend HY Tran Ultra in the front and rear axles as well as the outboard planetaries. That is the same oil used in the hydraulic systems. Evidently they are well built enough not to be fussy about lube. The only failures we have are when customers let the planetaries go bad from leaks they don't refill and grind the planetaries to powder.
The ZF gearbox in Moxy ADT's can either run on motoroil or transoil. But u got to spesify when u order it. They got some quantities inside that aint possible to drain.
